Our Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris vineyard of 3 Ha is ideally situated because of our Northerly aspect and the rich red loam soil typical of Merricks North. The centre and lower blocks are planted to the 777 clone of Pinot Noir. Below and across from the vineyard is three small dams and natural bush – home to wallabies that occasionally chew the soft tips of vine shoots.
Our vineyards are managed by Quealy Winemakers, with their winery located nearby on Bittern-Dromana Road. Quealy Winemakers farm the property with organic principles. In the late autumn a cover crop is sown to enhance fertility and soils structure. Vines are tended by hand, to create a canopy entirely penetrated by sunshine, assisting in the control of caterpillars and disease.
